Williamsburg International defeated Brishna in PK’s after a 3-3 thriller at Verazanno Sports Complex to win the ENYSSA D1 / D2 State Cup and lift the Jack Flamhaft Cup.

After conceding two early goals the Doylies regrouped and managed to keep the match within reach before tweaking their formation at the break. An early second half goal from John Kaddo cut the lead in half and Mark Gallagher equalized midway through the half.

When Brishna knocked in a volley to go up 3-2 in the 80th minute, things looked dire for the boys in green. A Rich Clements scissor kick from 6 yards out had just enough to get past the Brishna keeper and the final whistle blew with the score knotted at three.

In the ensuing shootout, each team showed remarkable nerve hitting the first 9 spot kicks taken. With Williamsburg leading 5-4 and needing a score to continue, Brishna watched as Chris Blivin jumped in front of the final shot, ensuring the win for the Doylies!
