Beyond FC 3 – 1 Williamsburg International

Having been featured in the CSL D2 match of the week preview, Williamsburg’s first team couldn’t live up to the hype and suffered a 3-1 defeat to New Jersey-based Beyond FC.

The loss put the Doylies seven points behind second-place Stal Mielec, albeit with a game in hand. If the boys in green can turn it around against the Polish outfit after the easter break they could still conceivably sneak into the second playoff spot and a shot at their thrid league title in four years.

Beyond FC Reserves 1 – 2 Williamsburg International Reserves

It’s been slim margins for Williamsburg’s Reserves this Spring. After two narrow 1-0 league victories, they fell victim to an own goal in a 0-1 cup defeat last weekend. This week it was a Rich Clements spot kick, coupled with a strike from top-scorer Benjamin LeRoux, that gave the Doylies a vital 2-1 win over a Beyond FC Reserve side they drew with in the home fixture last Fall.

The win keeps the Reserves in the hunt for the league title, where they trail league leaders Manhattan Kickers by two points, with a game in hand.
